Almotamar.net - Head of the parliamentary bloc of the General People’s Congress (GPC) Sultan al-Baraksni has on Wednesday emphasized respect and commitment of the GPC to the timetables of constitutional rights and embodiment of the democratic process including holding the electoral rounds on scheduled dates.

Al-Barakani has also commitment of the GPC parliamentary block to voting on the elections law on table of the parliament after it was discussed and approved by the parliament in 2008.

Curing his meeting on Wednesday with head of the European Union team in Sana’a, al-Barakani clarified the GPC’s serious stands for continuing the process of political reforms on the basis of the national dialogue in the way serving development of the political and electoral system depending on the experience of political work and practice during the past years and in keeping pace with variables and guaranteeing the benefit from others’ experiences according to Yemen’s interest.

For his part, the head o the European Union team affirmed the importance of deepening the principle of the national dialogue among various Yemeni political activities, praising the democratic experience in Yemen and efforts for developing it in the way enhancing more consolidation of this experience and achieving its objectives.

According to Yemeni news agency Saba the meeting has also discussed topics related to enhancement of relations of cooperation between Yemen and the European Union.
