Almotamar.net, Saba - The German government announced on Saturday resumption of receiving flights coming from Yemen on various international airlines, including Yemen Airways.
During his meeting with Minister of Transport Khalid al-Wazir, German ambassador to Yemen Michael Klor-Berchtold informed al-Wazir this decision, which stipulated allowing all passenger aircrafts coming from Yemen to land at German airports and transit over German territories without any hindrance.
This decision comes in light of results raised by the German technical team, which has visited Yemen recently to be familiar with the firm security and safety measures followed in Sana'a International Airport and to ensure their conformity with international standards and conditions of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the German ambassador made it clear.
This visit came after proposals submitted by Yemen for solving the problem of stopping air passenger flights between Yemen and Germany ,so as to agree with the strong friendship relations between the two countries, he added.
For his part, al-Wazir expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation to the German government for its rapid understanding and reconsidering its previous decision in this regard.
He said that this decision reflects the specificity of the distinct and strong relations between the two friendly peoples and countries, and enhances the two countries' efforts in combating terrorism within the international partnership in this aspect.
In this regard, al-Wazir praised efforts made by the German ambassador to follow up the concerned authorities in his country for issuing this decision.
