Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh has on Saturday met members of the team of the national team that would participate in the championship of Gulf 20 to be launched in the city of Aden on Monday. The President talked to them and urged them for good playing and achieving the championship in the manner raising high the name of Yemen and meeting the hopes of more than 25 million people rallying behind them. The people support follow up their performance in the stadium for achieving honourable results in the sports championship Gulf 20 hosted by Yemen and sports contest with their brothers in the Gulf and Iraq.
The President has made it clear that Gulf 20 Championship is a Gulf challenge for Yemen in regard to competing with time in preparing the installations completely and showing the ability to host it and achieve the success in it in the way Yemen name deserves.
President Saleh indicated that the football game in Yemen is deep-rooted with a long history for more than 100 years, adding that Yemen was the first of the countries that practiced the football game in the Arabian Peninsula area and the Gulf.
President Saleh said,” Our hearts are with you and we trust your enthusiasm and your love for tour homeland and your keenness on raising high the name of Yemen in this sport event in which you participate, wishing you success.”
