By: almotamar.net - TAIZ- Hundreds of thousands of people attended Monday the General People's Congress (GPC)'s presidential rally in Taiz governorate to support Ali Abdullah Saleh, GPC's presidential candidate.
Over 20 kms, the road that links Taiz, Ibb and Aden was densely crowded with thousands of cars heading for Saleh's rally. More than 1,700,000 people covered the open space of Taiz International Airport.
Saleh had to end the festival too early due to traffic stop.
People chanted for Saleh and raised his photos. Officer Jamil al-Rasemi of Taiz Traffic Department, told almotamra.net that the number of cars that entered Taiz city has reached some 100,000 to attend Saleh's rally. He made it clear this rally is the first of its kind in Taiz governorate.
