Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh has Sunday expressed his strong regret for the fall of victims among citizens and security soldiers in events of violence and acts of destruction during the past two days in three areas in Aden province, also showing his very regret for the harm on journalists as a result of acts of violence by elements that slipped into.
That came during the President meeting Sunday with political, partisan, social, youth activities and members of the local councils, civil society organisations, businessmen, the woman and professional organisations in the capital that gathered inside and outside the 22 May Hall for international Conferences.
In the massive meeting, President Saleh delivered a speech greeting the big gathering of the sons of the capital. He addressed the large gathering by asking the preservation of the capital and the rest of the country’s cities against chaos and tampering by irresponsible elements seeking to destruction and dividing the national rank.
President Saleh said, “We have called on them for dialogue and the negotiating table and we are ready to meet their demands, if they are legitimate, we are ready to respond to those demands and we have all of us to resort with courage and responsibility and to move to the dialogue table. The dialogue is the best way and not the destruction, not blocking roads, not killing people and not tampering with the public and private property of the sons of the great Yemeni people. “
The President added, “ We are sorry for what happened in Khor Maksar , Al-Mansoura and Sheikh Utman of irresponsible events by elements violating law and order and we regret that there were journalists got harmed as a result to the acts of violence and also there were injured among security men.
He said regretfully there were six security men injured and “we regret what happened and we don’t want that to be repeated. He who wants to express his own opinion he has to commit to the law and gets a license, defining the course and to express his opinion by peaceful ways.” The President renewed regret for what some journalists and some satellite channels were exposed to by anarchist elements that were not from the authority or the youth of the General People’s Congress and the National Alliance but rather elements driven to offend the journalists and the satellite channels, expressing his hope that acts of violence and offending journalists would not be repeated.
The President said the best way is the responsible dialogue “you are welcome to dialogue and I am ready to patronize the national dialogue in my capacity as head of the state and not in my capacity as chairman of a party, we welcome the dialogue.”
