By: almotamar.net - AL-DHALEI'- The General People's Congress (GPC)'s presidential candidate, Ali Abdullah Saleh, attended Wednesday an electoral rally in al-Dhalei' governorate. Addressing the masses of al-Dhalei' governorate, Saleh says, " I am happy to speak to the people of al-Dhalei' governorate, which, though newly established, has seen a great change, thanks to the faithful people.
Al-Dhalei' governorate has a great history, with loyal people who took part in the 26 September and 14 October revolutions, forced settlers to leave South Yemen. Of those prominent leaders are Ali Anter, Saleh Musleh Qassem, Ali Shaye', and numerous others.
There are people in al-Dhalei' governorate, and other governorates, who have been main partners in achieving the unification, on top of whom are patriotic members from the Yemeni Socialist Party.
I remember well the two martyrs, Ali Anter and Saleh Musleh, who hoped for martyrdom; and they really died martyrs for achieving the Yemeni unification.
There are several projects underway such as roads, a community college, grand mosque, and other projects to be established after the September elections."
Saleh further noted that there still issues caused by previous conflicts, last of which being the 1994 secession war. These issues will be handled, he added.
"The people of this governorate- youth, elderly, religious scholars, and politicians- whether from the GPC, Socialist Party, Islah Party, will vote on 20 September in favor of the good," Saleh concluded.
