By: almotamar.net - ABYAN- The General People's Congress (GPC)'s presidential candidate Ali Abdullah Saleh called on GPC members and supporters, faithful members of the Yemeni Socialist Party and Islah Party to vote on 20 September in favor of the homeland.
In an election campaign rally held Thursday in Abyan governorate, Saleh talked about future tasks for more development that can be achieved by fighting against corruption and corrupt, poverty, and tribal revenge. A university and five vocational and technical institutes will be established in Abyan governorate, he added.
In his speech Saleh says:
People of Abyan governorate,
I would like to greet you, faithful people, you who stood by the unification, democracy, and legitimate state, stood against the secessionist elements and forces in 1994…Fellow people, we pay much attention to the military institution, which is the symbol of unification, and which is the rock on which all plots were defeated. It will remain a symbol for the unification and homeland.
The Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) spokesman doesn't know about the unification. Yesterday, he said he wanted a local authority. He doesn't know that Yemen is a unified, but not federal country. Yemen remains one, with its security as a symbol for the national unification.
Unfortunately, the troubled address of the JMP leaders makes us reply. He is a taxi hired by the JMP. He doesn't know about Abyan's leaders, religious scholars, and strugglers. How come that a hired president can rule the homeland?
Let's all, men and women, head on 20 September to the polling boxes to vote for those who understand development, unification, and freedom, with security and stability as our choice. Yes for unification, freedom, democracy, security, stability, yes for the GPC. Not for the troubled, sacerdotal speech.
