Almotamar.net - Sana’a- Assistant Secretary General of the General People’s Congress (PC) Sultan al-Barakani and with him Assistants Secretary General of the GPC Dr Ahmed Ubeid bin Daghr and Dr Amat al-Razzaq Humad on Wednesday afternoon met with the visiting US Assistant Secretary of State Jeffrey Feltman and with him the American Ambassador to Sana’a and a number of the embassy members.

In the meeting al-Barakani valued and appreciated all the United States efforts for supporting unity, security and stability of Yemen.

Al-Barakani informed the US official Feltman on recent political , economic and security developments Yemen is experiences and the efforts exerted by the Vice President and First Vice Chairman of the GPC Abed Rabou Mansour Hadi and the government to prevent aggravation of the situations.

For his part the US Assistant Secretary of State expressed his satisfaction of the visit, affirming condemnation of his country of the criminal acts on 3 June 2011 that targeted the President of Yemen and senior leaders of the state, wishing quick recovery of the President and all those who were wounded in the incident.

Mr Feltman also affirmed continuation and enhancement of the existing partnership between the United States of America and the Yemeni Republic in combating terror and other aspects.
He also expressed his hope for reaching to quick solutions for the political crisis between different political forces to avoid any economic and security reflections , showing his country’s readiness for cooperating with all political parties , pointing out that any agreement reached by the Yemeni parties would be an object of blessing as being considered that the Yemenis are the ones concerned first and finally and that the United States urges all parties on the speed of the political solution in the framework of the democratic approach , expressing the will of the Yemeni people.

He pointed out the necessity of joining forces of the parties to take Yemen out of the crisis it is living and the present challenges.

The US official emphasised that the US would play a great role for supporting any dialogue between the parties on the ground of the Gulf initiative and the Yemeni constitution. He added his country appreciates Yemen role in its confrontation of terror within its partnership with the US and the international community in combating terror and the war on al-Qaeda, considering role of the present Yemeni government in its facing of al-Qaeda in Zanjibar and Lahj.

Mr Feltman confirmed continuation of the US in cooperation and coordination with Yemen within the frame of the partnership and international commitment in this aspect as for what al-Qaeda forms of danger on security of Yemen and its stability and unity and its democratic regime and the region and security and social peace of in the entire world.

The meeting has also discussed a number of issues and subjects connected to enhancement of cooperation between the two countries I various areas.
