Almotamar.net - Sana’a- US Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs Jeffrey Feltman said on Thursday the United States of America encourages Yemeni political parties on dialogue and the peaceful solution for the multi challenges the republic is experiencing.
In a press conference he held at the US embassy in Sana’a Thursday, Mr Feltman added the challenges Yemen is facing are dangerous and multi , among them the problems of oil supplies and their impact on the everyday life and its various requirements.
He pointed out that during his visit to some states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) he had felt interest of the GCC states in the Yemeni situation, proving that interest with the initiative presented by the GCC states, denying that his country was the one that had written its articles.
The US official Feltman delivered at the beginning of the press conference a statement in which he talked on the nature of his meetings with the Vice President Abed Rabou Mansour Hadi the Foreign Minister Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, government and economic leaderships, leaderships of the opposition, representatives of the civil society organisations, in addition to a number of youths and accredited diplomats.
Mr Feltman indicated that those meetings aimed to obtain better and common understanding of the present developments and discussion of the steps that can be taken for finding the solution that achieves aspirations of the Yemeni people.
The US official stressed on urging all the Yemeni parties to participate in peaceful dialogue taking Yemen forward, reiterating affirmation of the support of the United States and the international community for the initiative presented by the GCC states in what it included of articles considered as considered tracks for facing the Yemen political situation.
He has affirmed his country’s encouragement for all parties to quick movement towards dialogue so that the Yemeni people can achieve security and enhancement of their unity and gaining prosperity that they deserve. He pointed out to continuation of American coordination and consultation with the friends and partners, including the GCC states about Yemen and that events of peaceful and organized transfer power would put the country on better track on the road of progress and prosperity.
In the framework of cooperation between the two countries, Feltman affirmed that achievement of progress in Yemen through the organized and peaceful change would make the United States continue its cooperation and enhance its partnership with the government and people of Yemen for the achievement of this prosperity.
