almotamar.net - President Abdo Rabbu Mansour Hadi said on Friday he would not allow anyone to undermine the national unity of Yemen.
“I am one of the sons of the southern provinces, I am also a son of the great and unified Yemen… so I will not allow anyone to utilize the south issue and the Yemeni unity for biding or trading”, President Hadi said in a speech marking the 46th anniversary of the independence of South Yemen from the British occupation.
“Yemen’s unity will continue to be great value and a sacred dream yearned by the pioneers of the Yemeni people in its north and south”.
The President went to say that the Yemenis are very close to completing "with success" the comprehensive national dialogue conference which is the mean to "draw the future of new Yemen”.
“We are just around the corner from the successful completion of the comprehensive national dialogue conference, in order to draw the future of new Yemen… Everyone needs to be aware that we are determined to shut down the past page”.
He thanked the UN Security Council for its firm support for the Yemeni people, citing the UNSC’s united and strong vote in its recent meeting on 27 November which reaffirmed on unity, security and stability of Yemen. Hadi also commended the statement of the GCC foreign ministers during their recent meeting in Kuwait, where they reiterated backing to Yemen.
The UNSC welcomed progress thus far in Yemen’s ongoing political transition and pledged to support efforts to succeed the comprehensive national dialogue conference.
The President also hailed the UNSC condemnation of any such attempts, whether by members of the former regime or political opportunists.
“Security and stability are not realized by armies alone, but the people… So I call on all Yemeni people to be one hand and the heart of one man to challenge terrorist acts and assassinations taking place in Sana’a and other provinces”, he said.
President Hadi also called on all government authorities and security forces to continue their crack down on terrorism nationwide.

Saudi aggression warplanes have launched more than 49 airstrikes over the past hours on several residential areas across Yemen, a security official said on Sunday.
The airstrikes targeted the areas of Malahiz and Husama in Dhahir district, and areas Thuban, Masahif and Sdad in Bakim district of northern Saada province.
