Almotamar.net - The Children's Parliament concludes their final session tomorrow for the 2011-13 period in the Parliament’s small conference rooml. The sessions will be attended by government representatives and a number of international organizations. Members of the Media Network will also attend.
This final session takes up a number of important issues, focusing on the recommendations of the Geneva meeting, the outputs of the National Dialogue Conference, and the involvement of children in armed conflict.
Over the last two days, the Children Parliament members were trained by Save the Children experts in advocacy and how to draft and design their messages aimed at key decision makers. This final session is funded by Save the Children International in partnership with the School for Democracy.
Jerry Farrell, the Country Director of Save the Children International in Yemen stated that all Children in Yemen have the Right to Participation and be empowered “I believe strongly in the Children’s Parliament as a forum for Children and young people to make their voices heard and influence felt at all levels. As future leaders, they will play a key role in improving the situation for children in their respective communities,” Farrell ensured.
