Jamil al-Jaadabi Almotamar.net - SANAA-N official source at the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) told almotamar.net Tuesday that the proportion of preparation and provision for holding the polling operation scheduled Wednesday amounted until late last night to 95%.

The source has affirmed complete preparation of all election stations, supplying them with all documents and equipment for the reception of more than 9 million electors on Wednesday morning to cast their votes in the 2006 presidential and local councils elections.
The official in charge of the SCER operations pointed out to the conclusion of all training measures of ballot boxes committees and the completion of transferring documents, equipment and means of voting and result-counting to the governorates to be then transferred then to headquarters of local councils constituencies, especially those that are geographically far. He has made it clear that they used helicopters to transfer documents of ballot documents to remote regions and Yemeni islands of Socotra, Qalamsia and Abdel Kuri. With regard to security measures the election commission’s official mentioned that security committees have held intensive meetings t study the security situation and to take necessary measures guaranteeing the operation voting and vote-counting. He said the European Election Observation Mission has made continuous visits to committees headquarters to see the degree and extent of preparation for receiving electors.
Meanwhile, officials and employees changed since Monday morning to beehive-like with a large-scale spread to carry out their tasks through a large field network all over the Yemeni governorates.
