By: almotamar.net - SANA'A- A source in the Ministry of Interior Tuesday denied that Hussein al-Dharhani, who was arrested on Friday for being a member of the terrorist cell, is not a police officer and doesn't have any relations with security authorities. The source denied the statements made by the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP)'s spokesman who is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood movement in Yemen.

The security source made it clear that the Ministry of Interior has offered to provide security guards for the presidential candidates at the beginning of the presidential campaign, but Faisal Bin Shamlan, JMP's presidential candidate, rejected the idea as announced by the head of his election campaign, Zaid al-Shami who said, "The JMP block can provide security for its presidential candidate by itself."

The official spokesman of the JMP, Mohammed Qahtan, blamed the Ministry of Interior for discovering a terrorist individual among the security guards of Faisal Bin Shamlan, but the security source denied such statements, which he considered as "an attempt to escape from the impasse in which the JMP is faced with, and to disavow the involvement of its security guards in the latest terrorist acts."

In a press conference held Tuesday in Sana'a, President Ali Abdullah Saleh disclosed that security authorities discovered a prominent terrorist who intended to carry out acts of terror against American installations and the Movembic Hotel in Sana'a.
Saleh said it has been revealed through the picture that the terrorist person was standing behind the presidential candidate of the JMP while in one of his election festivals.

President Saleh made it clear that the person was arrested and he was in possession of a quantity of explosives and dynamites, saying his standing behind the JMP candidate, main opposition bloc, “ arouses questions and how to be awake and keen to follow the strings of such a case." The president threatened to take strict measures against kidnappers of the four French tourists in the governorate of Shabwa. He affirmed that the kidnapping incident came at background of dispute between two villages, indicating that the kidnapers are putting pressure on the government but “we will not compromise with them.

Security sources said in press statements that the initial investigation show that the owner of the house in which the terrorist cell lived is called Hussein Mohammed Saleh al-Dharhani, who bears a number of names, cards and passports, and who has direct relations with the cell members that were arrested on 16 September. Al-Dharhani is the same person who appeared in the television while accompanying Bin Shamlan in his electoral festivals held in the governorates of al-Dhalei', and Marib. He was entrusted by the Islah party to guard Bin Shamlan.

A witness reported terrorist suspects to the security authorities after he identified al-Dharhani on television as he accompanied Bin Shamlan during his election campaign. The witness affirmed al-Dharhani was among terrorist elements in one of their camps in Afghanistan. He used to be a bodyguard for Osama Bin Laden as he joined extremist groups.

The sources added that investigations that carried out in absolute secrecy extended in the past three days and included several persons, including al-Dharhani. Concerned security authorities got a permission from the general prosecution to inspect his house and question some of his neighbors.

Investigations also show that the terrorist cell has links with Fawaz al-Rabyee', a member of al-Qaeda network who could escape from the political security prison and who has been sentenced to death for being convicted of blasting the French oil tanker limburge and other terrorist acts.

On 16 September, the security forces arrested four Al-Qaeda members in Sana'a city.
They seized explosives from the suspects planned for terrorist attacks in the capital city. The explosives consisted of 12 bags each containing 88 to 110 pounds of highly explosive material.
