almotamar.net - SANAA-Leader of the Sons of Yemen League Party (RAY) Abdulrahman al-Jifri denied that his return to the homeland was a result of a deal he has struck with President Ali Abdullah Saleh to be appointed to a government post.
In an interview to AlAyyam newspaper published Sunday al-Jifri said his return to Yemen was concluded in accordance with an agreement he made with president Saleh for the interest of the homeland, saying The RAY secretary-general Muhsin Mohammed Farid contacted president Saleh a week before holding the elections informing him that in the party he agrees with the presidents stands and his national project of the political, economic and social reform he has adopted in running the states affairs and that it is the most convenient for the upcoming stage, affirming that the party will declare its stand without anything in return.)
He said, We are not of those to conclude personal deals and if we wanted to strike a deal especially for our party or realize political interests without self conciliation, it is our right in the political work as long as this deal does not go out of the frame of the homelands interests.
