By: almotamar.net - SANA’A- The Dubai-based Gulf Research Center, in cooperation with the Yemeni Ministry of Planning, is to hold a symposium on the mechanism and requirements for rehabilitating Yemen to join the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The symposium will run from 8 to 9 of the next month in the presence of high-ranking officials from Yemen and GCC.
Al-Khaleej newspaper quoted Abdul-Aziz Bin Othman, head of the Gulf Research Center, as saying “The key objective of the symposium is to bring out the importance of the historic and cultural relations between Yemen and GCC. It also aims to discuss security and political issues that are related to Yemen’s joining the GCC.”
The symposium will also tackle the mechanism and requirements that rehabilitate Yemen to join the GCC, the size of financial needs, the nature of joint economic and political interests, as well as a future vision for the partnership between the two sides.
