Almotamar.net - The United Nations and its humanitarian partners on Wednesday launched a humanitarian response for the humanitarian situation plan in Yemen worth $ 1.2 billion.

The appeal, which was launched in Geneva is regarded the biggest international appeal in the history of Yemen, aims to ensure supporting life-saving assistance to some 12 million people in Yemen during the current year 2017.

According to a press release issued by the United Nations Humanitarian Affairs Office in Sana'a - Saba got a copy of it - it is estimated that about 10.3 million people affected sharply by the war and require immediate humanitarian assistance including the provision of food, health care and medical services, clean water and sanitation services and protection for survival.

"About 3.3 million people including 2.1 million children suffer from acute malnutrition, while still two million people in the case of internally displacement", the press release mentioned.

The press release pointed out that the humanitarian response plan for 2017 formed to provide assistance to people who suffer from the urgent need in addition to providing assistance to a limited number of people who are threatened by the risk of slipping to develop a critical need.
