By: almotamar.net - SANA'A- The International Conference of New or Restored Democracies (ICNRD) will start on 29 October in Qatar, where 192 countries will participate in the conference which is sponsored by the United Nations. This conference is considered one of the most important conferences as it will be held in the presence of heads and representatives of civil society organizations from around the world, as well as UN secretary-general Kofi Anan.
Mr. Jamal al-Awadi, head of the Yemeni Center for Human Rights and Democracy Development, will represent Yemeni civil society organizations.
In a statement to almotamar.net, al-Awadi said participants will discuss the democratic developments in Yemen in a research titled "Yemen as a model". The research reviews the phases of the democratic experience of Yemen, and its success through the 2006 elections. Qatar's permanent representative to the United Nations Nasser bin Abdul Aziz Al Nasr said that Qatar is exerting great efforts for its success because of its importance on the local, regional and international levels.
