Almotamar Net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh said Monday that his international tour to Japan, the United States of America and France was very successful with positive results, Saba News reported.

�We discussed with President Bush and President Chirac the mutual relations with their respective countries,� Saleh told media people after his meeting with the French President. �The discussions focused on joint efforts in the fight against terrorism within the global partnership. We have reported the positive achievements Yemen has realized in the fight against terror in solidarity with the international community,� he added.

The talks also covered, according to the president, enhancing the economic and development cooperation including the difficulties Yemen has faced in this respect as a result of terrorist attacks on USS Cole and French oil tanker, Limburg. �The Yemeni economy was terribly damaged,� he asserted.

�There�s a positive response from the American administration and the French leadership to support development and democracy in Yemen,� he added.

President Saleh declared that he discussed with American and French officials the development in the region and the horn of Africa. �What�s going on between the Americans and Syrians should be resolved through understanding,� he told the journalists. �I can not give more details on this issue until I talk with the Syrian and Lebanese. In general, I they may all reach appropriate solutions.�

He added that Yemen is concerned by the security of the region and will play its role whether it is requested to or not.

Earlier on Monday President Saleh received Mr. Dumanike Pusheh, advisor to French President.

They exchanged viewpoints about the latest developments on the regional and international arenas, especially in Palestinian, Iraq, Somalia and African Horn.

President Saleh assured Yemen's adherence to enhance its relations with France and supporting them in various fields.

The French official confirmed willingness of France to improve and develop its relations with Yemen.
