almotamar.net - A Yemeni security source announced Sunday that security men arrested a French journalist in the governorate of Shabwa while he was trying to enter Yemen illegally in company of a group of Somalis. The source said the French journalist name is Daniel Gerand working for a French television channel.

The source added that security apparatus was still interrogating the French journalist to know the reasons why he was trying to enter Yemen in an illegal way and said the Yemeni interior ministry informed the French embassy about that. Security apparatuses were completing their investigations with the French citizen before handing him over to the French competent authorities.
