Almotamar Net - SANAA-  Acting Executive Director of the Social Fund for Development Dr. Abdullah Al-Dailami countersigned a grant from the United States Department of State in the amount of $111,000 for the restoration and rehabilitation of Dar Al-Diyafa in the historic town of Zabid, Hodeida governorate. By: almotamar.net - SANA'A- Acting Executive Director of the Social Fund for Development Dr. Abdullah Al-Dailami countersigned a grant from the United States Department of State in the amount of $111,000 for the restoration and rehabilitation of Dar Al-Diyafa in the historic town of Zabid, Hodeida governorate. Under the grant, experts will document the current state of Dar- Al-Diyafa and surrounding area. Zabid�s cultural heritage spans more than 3000 years of history.

The funding is part of the wider United States Ambassadors� Fund for Cultural Preservation which in 2006 totals $2.8 million to fund 87 projects in 76 countries around the world. To date, this program, which was designed to show the respect Americans have for other cultures, has funded 292 projects totaling $6.7 million
