By: Mohammed Taher (almotamar.net) - SANA’A- Assistant Secretary-General of the General People’s Congress (GPC), Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani, called on the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) to have the sense of courage and disclose the corruption files [which have been announced by its spokesman Mohamed Qahtan] and submit true documents to the attorney-general for investigations.
Al-Barakani considered the statement of Qahtan to disclose corruption files as a step anticipating the GPC would disclose corruption files and fight against corruption whether in the government institutions or the corruption of opposition represented in the accounts of mosques and orphans and Islahi travelers who had toured Gulf countries to gather donations.
Al-Barakani told almotamar.net that all the rumors circulated by the JMP during the election publicity period failed to bring its leaderships to power. “Mohammed Qahtan was wrong as he thought that the GPC has left the state’s leadership in order to practice the job of his party in collecting illegal money from widows and orphans,” al-Barakani said while reminding Qahtan of the investment of al-Manqadh, al-Sanabel and al-Noor companies, and calling on concerned authorities to look into these cases as the government is responsible for the depositors’ money.
The Islah-run newspaper, al-Nass, has provoked Abdu al-Janadi as it fabricated his speech on financing the GPC’s election campaign. In an interview with al-Wasat newspaper, al-Janadi said, “I have affirmed that what the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum and I know about is that the GPC didn’t use public money in its election campaigns.”
