almotamar.net - SANAA-The Yemeni National Committee of Education, Science and Culture organizes, in cooperation with the Islamic Organization of Education, Science and Culture, a regional expert for the enhancement of human resources to improve the national developmental work on the question of illiteracy eradication in Sana’a on 20-22 November 2006. Eleven Arab countries are scheduled to participate in the meeting.
Dr Mohammed Abdulbari al-Qadassi the secretary general of the committee affirmed to almotamar.net that the meeting is meant for enhancement of the political leadership directives aimed at strengthening the role of the civil society in implementing programs of illiteracy eradication and development of human resources targeted in the programs of illiteracy eradication. He added that the most important issues to be discussed in the meeting are ways of training workers in the area of illiteracy eradication and ensuring actual participation with the private sector and organizations of the civil society in funding the programs. In addition the meeting will tackle activation of the role of Islamic endowments establishments along with engaging universities in scientific research on society education and eradication of illiteracy as well as activation of the media and modern technology role in development of developmental work of illiteracy eradication programs and benefiting from experiments of participants countries in this field.
The participant countries are Jordan, the Emirates Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Kuwait and Yemen.
