almotamar.net - SANAA-The meeting of the committee on control of market situation and guarantee of prices stability, chaired by the minister of industry and trade Dr Khalid Rajih Sheikh approved Thursday a mechanism of controlling prices pursuant to the republican decision of the law No. 19 for the year 1999 concerning the encouragement of competition and prevention of commercial monopoly and cheating, in agreement with merchants of each merchandise.

The meeting attended by a group of eggs, meats and poultry merchants, approved fixing a reasonable margin of profit in the way not harming the consumer and adoption of direct prices for the consumer in the following manner:
-fixing the price of one kg of frozen poultry by 410 riyals and an eggs tray of 30 eggs by 150 riyals for the consumer,
-the price of a kg of imported sheep meat slaughtered locally by 900 riyal, and local sheep meat 1200 riyals per kg, 800 riyal per kg for imported beef and 900 riyals for imported calf meat, 1000 riyals per kg for local calf meat medium size and 1200 riyals for a kg of local small calf meat.
The committee will continue in dealing with fixing price4s through meeting with merchants of all goods at a reasonable basis preventing exploitation and greed and preserving the relationship among parties of the market in a satisfactory way.
The committee called on all importers, industrialists, producers, and merchants of whole sale and retail sale to stick to the prices and display them on goods and products.
