In a statement to almotamar.net, al-Rassas said the Cabinet has on Saturday discussed the Bid and Tender Law and submitted it to the Parliament, asking it [Parliament] to include the law in its draft as it is an important economic-related issue.
The law stipulates that an independent higher board be formed and supervised by the president of the Republic. The board is to monitor tender and bid activities, as well as the reports is receives from the general committees. The board includes honest men to supervise and approve tender policies and ensure transparency of tender procedures.
