Almotamar.net - SANA'A- Youth Shoura council today submitted a letter of complaint to Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hussein al-Ahmer with regard to Yahya Saleh Abu Saba'a who has been detained since 1997.
The Youth Shoura council noted it received a letter from Faknah Raji Abu Ras, the mother of Abu Saba'a, where she stated Sheikh al-Ahmer detained her son, who was under age, in his house for a week and then sent him to the Central Prison.
In a statement issued by the Youth Shoura council, of which almotamar.net obtained a copy, the mother provided her letter of complaint with a number of documents, including a document without date ascribed to Sheikh al-Ahmer stating Yahya Abu Saba'a has been kept in custody as a hostage to press on his [Yahya] brother who is accused of murder.
The letter sent by the Youth Shoura Council reads as, "You know that 26 September Revolution, in which you had played a big role, aimed to put an end to hostage system
A parliamentary source, on the other hand, told almotamar.net that sheikh Abdullah has as of late closed his private prison, and now he makes use of the Central Prison to detain criminals.
Sultan al-Barakani, head of the General People's Congress bloc, raised the issue of private prisons (Shiekh's prisons) during a session held this week and demanded their closure.
