Head of the Judo General Federation said the decision came after the championship's committee refused to allow girls wearing veils to participate. He noted there were three Yemeni girls to participate in the championship.
Over the past years, the ministry of youth and sport has worked to activate women's sports activities in a way that matches with the Yemeni traditions and customs as well Islamic teachings. It set up centers and clubs for women for that reason.
