A statement distributed in the sit-in held at the YJS headquarters on Sunday considered the verdict against the newspaper as a complicated issue affecting Yemen�s commitments to respect the freedom of opinion and expression and the press choices in selecting the means necessary for defending people issues.
The YJS indicated that Al-RAai Al A�am, Yemen Observer and Hurriyah newspapers, under prosecution, re-publication of the cartons abusing the Prophet was part of d3efending the Prophet, supported with writing material and modified cartoons which made them lose their original image and that was an indication to condemning the publication of those cartoons.
The journalists also have expressed their shock and denunciation of the verdict, announcing their absolute solidarity with the Rai AlA�am newspaper and its editor n chief.

The syndicate ahs also expressed its regret for the court�s falling into that dangerous slip which legalizes punishment against whoever tries to defend the Prophet of Islam, demanding the immediate closure of those lawsuits regarding the re-publication of the cartoons.
