Almotamar.net- - SANA'A- Prime Minister Abdul-Qader Bajammal affirmed President Ali Abdullah Saleh's policy, the success of the September elections, and financial reforms had played a big role in making donors' conference held in London successful.
During a symposium organized by the 26 September newspaper and ministry of planning, Bajammal said Yemen could, thanks to President Saleh's efforts, begin a direct dialgu with gulf countries on settling many issues, and that Yemen's relations with these countries and donor countries have begun to improve, especially after Yemen's relations with the World Bank and other gulf funds were almost broken off.
"Yemen participated in the donors' conference of 1996 with an aim to repair the bridges of its relations with the world and donors' community, and improve our relations with the World Bank. But this time, Yemen went to London's Donors Conference after it had made improvements in its economy," he said.
The London's Donors Conference came after long dialogues with the GCC state members that showed understanding to join Yemen into the council.
For his part Minister of Finance Saif al-Asali said Yemen urgently needs many strategic projects that would improve its economy and the income of its citizens, and help create job opportunities
