almotamar.net - SANAA-In his message to the Interior Minister Dr Rashad Al-Alimi Thursday, the chairman of Yemeni Journalists Syndicate (YJS) Nassr Taha Mistafa requested investigation into the attack incident on Al-Jazeera TV correspondent in Sana�a Ahmed al-Shalafi by an officer from the Interior Ministry during the former was carrying out his profession.
The YJS chairman also asked the ministry to set free journalist Andulhadi Naji Ali who is detained at the Krator police station in Aden governorate for two weeks because of a financial story he has nothing to do with it.
On their part the journalists of Taiz governorate have condemned the arbitrary measures taken against journalist Abdulhadi Naji Ali the correspondent of Al-Ayam newspaper in Taiz.
A statement issued by the YJS branch of Taiz affirmed solidarity of all journalists of the governorate with their colleague who was fired from Al-Ayam newspaper after 15 years of working in the newspaper.
The statement which almotamar.net got a copy of expressed condemnation and denunciation of the YJS for the measures taken against its member, demanding requesting the deputy premier the minister of interior the speedy release of colleague Abdulhadi and to send the caser to concerned sides in the governorate of Taiz. The YJS leadership and its branch of Taiz threatened to escalate the situation at various levels and there will be s sit-in in case their demands for the release of their colleague were not responded to.
