Almotamar.net - SANA'A- The General People's Congress (GPC)'s Parliamentary bloc asked the Parliament's constitutional committee to prepare a report on the demands of lifting MP Humid al-Hammer’s parliamentary immunity within one week.
In a Saturday meeting chaired by Sultan al-Barakani, the bloc decided to give the constituent ional committee a specific period of time to prepare its report, and that this short period of time would be the last attempt of Sheikh Abdullah al-Ahmer and Yahya al-Raie to settle the case of Hamid al-Ahmer's threatening the editor in chief of 26 September newspaper Ali Hessian al-Shater.
During the meeting, a number of GPC MPs denounced freezing the procedures of lifting Hamid al-Ahmer's parliamentary immunity after the intimate attempts made to settle the problem. But such attempts didn't stop the procedures of bringing al-Shater to the prosecutor at the backdrop of publishing a poem that led al-Ahmer to threaten him. Some MPs stated al-Shater explained the poem didn't target al-Ahmer.
