Chairman of the Foundation, Ms. Raofa Hassan al-Sharqi, said the symposium will launch the first phase of the Cosmic Priorities Campaign in Yemen that will end in 2015.
"The symposium aims to discuss the ways through which the state's public budget can be easily understood and highlighted, which will help MPs and civil society organizations discuss them and participate in observing the fight against corruption," she added.
The symposium will introduce a dictionary for the terms used in budget, and present a background on the budget course.
Al-Sharqi pointed out in a press release that the symposium seeks to make the relation between the state's public budget and the millennium goals for combating poverty clear-cut and easy. Three millennium goals have been selected by the Foundation . These are : balancing between the two sexes; decreasing the rate of child deaths; and developing partnerships with the civil society organizations, governments, private sectors, and international organizations.
