almotamar.net - SANAA-Al-Mahweet governorate of Yemen has cancelled all phenomena of celebrations on Eid Al-Adha and rites of celebrating the occasion its people are used to for tens of years in declaration of their mourning on the execution of the Iraqi president Saddam Hussein who was hanged on the first day of Adha Eid.
Al-Thawra.net has quoted one of the notables of the city Sheikh Ali al-Nazeeli as saying that timing of implementing the death sentence against Saddam Hussein came provocative to feelings of the Muslims and sanctity of the month. He remarked that cancellation of the city's Eid rites and celebration is done for the fiat time in hundreds of years and it has been as the minimum expression of protest to the inhuman and immoral behaviour that is violating international laws and ethical values.
Earlier the speaker of the Yemeni parliament Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hussein al-Ahmar launched a severe attack on the Iraqi government describing them as agents for America and its employees in Iraq.
In his interview to Al-Jazeera satellite channel Sunday morning Sheikh al-Ahmar said there were contacts between the Yemeni presidency and occupation forces and their agents in Iraq about burying Saddam Hussein in Yemen and that request was rejected by the Iraqi government .
The daughter of the Iraqi president Saddam Hussein had earlier asked to bury her father's corpse in Yemen to which Yemen declared its readiness to do that and held contacts about those measures. It is to be recalled that Yemen was the only Arab country that appealed to the Iraqi government to stop carrying out the execution of Saddam Hussein.
