Almotamar.net - SANAA- Yemen foreign minister Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi called Wednesday for exerting all efforts to put an end to presence of armed militias in Somalia and to establish peace and build the state institutions.
He has drawn the attention to Yemen's efforts for opening wider horizons for dialogue among Somali factions and solving aggravated problems among them.
The FM's remarks came during his meeting with the Italian deputy foreign minister who affirmed his country's keenness to develop the Italian-Arab relations and exerting more efforts for the establishment of peace in the Middle East. He also praised efforts of president Ali Abdullah Saleh for bringing to success the donor conference for Yemen held in London in the mid of last November and also Yemen's efforts to realize more openness to the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
The Italian official emphasized his government's willingness to support investment in Yemen and encourage Italian companies and capitals to invest in Yemen.
Dr al-Qirbi also discussed with the Italian official means of developing economic and investment cooperation in addition to reviewing developments in the Middle East, especially the situations in Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon and Somalia. Dr al-Qirbi also praised the European support for Yemen in areas of development, affirming the importance of stability in the Middle East and enhancement of efforts exerted by the international community for the activation of the peace process.
