almotamar.net - An official in the government has Monday accused the states of Iran and Libya of offering financial support to al-Houthi elements who the government accuses them of leading an armed rebellion in the governorate of Saada. The official told in a statement to ytoday.net the coming days would see diplomatic activities to convince the two states to stop their interference in Yemen's affairs.
The same official considered what is happening in Saada is a regional and international settlement of accounts through which Iran endeavors to confront the United States of America in Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen and there is possibility that its movements extend to Bahrain and the eastern region of Saudi Arabia, as it says.
The ytoday.net website quoted the government official as saying there are Libyan ambitions of the Libyan leader Muamar al-Gaddafi aimed at settling accounts with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the exploitation of Saada events, indicating Libya's failure in attempts to attract some sheiks of the tribes of Saada governorate and another neighboring governorate in order to carry out operations in Saudi Arabia. The Yemeni authorities have learnt earlier about that and deterred the sides that communicated with the Libyan authorities and stayed in Tripoli for months.
