Al-Ahmar said it is necessary that Andulmalik al-Houthi surrenders himself and his heavy weapons to and make his followers get down from the mountains where they take them as strongholds because at the end they have to surrender themselves.
The speaker denied his acting as a mediator between the government and al-Houthi followers. Affirming he is part of the state. He said "I did not mediate between the government and the Houthis and such talk is groundless. I am not a mediator but part of the state and a rebel against the state is a rebel against me as well."
He added in a statement to the Saudi Okadh newspaper he was playing a role of calming down and when a member of the Houthis goes to him he will urge him for adhering to calmness and to leave confrontations but he said the repeated events are committed by the Houthis.
