almotamar.net - The secretary general of the Shoura Council Najib Abdulmalik told almotamar.net that the Council has so far received 250 applications for nomination to membership of the committee for fighting corruption scheduled to be established in the few coming weeks.
Andulmlik also said the Council sent letters to civil society organizations, the private sector and the women sector for presenting their candidates to the committee according to conditions of the law on fighting corruption. The council's standing committees have also submitted names of those persons possessing experience and good patriotic reputation in addition to files of persons who have shown their desire for membership of the corruption fighting body he made it clear that many of the applicants do not meet the legal conditions, such as the required age and lacking of university degrees.
Mr. Abdulmalik said the Shoura Council general secretariat will refer files of those meeting the conditions to members of the Council who will on Saturday set up a committee to study the nomination applications and the Council will choose 30 persons and send the list to the parliament to select 11 of thiamin direct ballot according to the law.
