Almotamar.net - A meeting of Yemeni-Ethiopian of talks was held Tuesday evening at the presidential house chaired by President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the visiting Ethiopian president Girmia Wolde-Giorgis and attended by Yemeni vice-president Abdrabu Mansour Hadi.

The two leaders discussed means for consolidating bilateral relations and areas of cooperation at various levels.

Both presidents also exchanged points of view about developments of regional and international situations, mainly the situations in the Horn of Africa, current developments in Somalia and ongoing preparations for holding the upcoming session of the Sana'a Gathering summit scheduled in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa late this month.

President Saleh welcomed president Wolde-Giorgis of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, raising the historic relations s between the two friendly countries and indicating that they are relations of friendliness, growing cooperation and developing.

President Saleh affirmed Yemen's keenness on enhancing those relations in different areas and pushing forward cooperation towards broader horizons bilaterally and within the Sana'a Gathering, expressing his appreciation for the care the Yemeni community receives in Ethiopia.
On his part the Ethiopian president Wolde-Giorgis expressed his pleasure for visiting Yemen and his talks with president Saleh. The Ethiopian president pointed out the historic ties between the two countries and peoples and Ethiopia's keenness to enhance those relations and expand areas of cooperation in all fields. He also expressed appreciation of hospitality and reception he received.

The talks were attended by Abdulaziz Abdulghani, chairman of the Shoura Council, Dr Abubakr al-Qirbi the foreign minister, Ali Mohammed al-A'nisi, director of the presidency office, Dr Amat al-Razzak minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Dr Yahya al-Shuaibi, the state minister the capital Mayor, Abdullah Hussein al-Bashiri the state minister, the presidency Secretary General, Yusuf Mohammed Abdullah, advisor to the minister of culture and Hazim Abdulrazzak, Yemen's ambassador to Ethiopia.

For the Ethiopian side the talks were attended by Hassan Abdullah the Minister of Labour, Mahdi Ahmed Jadid Director of Middle East, Asia and Australia Administration and Tawfiq Abdullah Ahmed the Ethiopian ambassador to Yemen.
