Almotamar.net - The Yemen Minister of Local Administration Sadiq bin Amin Aburas opens Saturday at the Hall of Institutional Development and Training at the ministry a workshop on coordination of information efforts for the implementation of information system for the local authority in Yemen. Taking part in the workshop are directors general of information from governorates and the capital secretariat, the central sides as well as researchers in the field of information and specialized experts from the company implementing the project.

It is scheduled that the participants will over two days discuss necessary mechanisms for the unification of information operation criteria for the application of the local authority information system. The Yemensoft began last year the implementation of the local authority information system the beginning of this year and it is scheduled to be finished next year while the ministry will start its application before the end of the year 2008. This workshop is being held as part of the first phase of the project that studies requirements of the system as the workshop will study coordination of integration and application technology of the systems targeted in the project.

The executive director of the project Eng. Ali bin Ali al-Hakimi made it clear to almotamar.net that the workshop aims at unifying information criteria and efforts needed for the local authority information system in administrative units and to enhance their ability in areas of implementation and planning as well as enabling the central apparatuses to carry out their duties related to local affairs.
