almotamar.net - The parliamentary committee of transport and communications has noted drop in number of air flights to and fro of the Yemeni airports, attributing the situation to high prices of air tickets, duties levied for the use of ground equipment at the airports and the airways non-commitment to times of their trips.
In its report following its field visits to ports and airports the committee criticized the Yemenia monopoly of air trips to and fro the airports, calling for freeing air transport from monopoly and granting facilities to encourage Arab and foreign airways companies to use Yemen airports in conducting direct, or tourist or air freight and flights.

The committee also recommended encouragement of the private sector to direct investment in air transport especially in establishment and operating airlines to and fro Yemen.
