almotamar.net - The Yemeni cabinet approved Tuesday amendments draft of some articles of laws related to the woman, mentioning in its meeting today that the amendments are meant for consolidating the women rights, safeguarding their dignity, non-belittling of their status and confirmation of dealing with the woman as being brothers of men and compose half of the society.

The amendments draft included the laws of nationality, diplomatic and consulate career, the rights of the child, political parties and organisations, general elections and referendum, personal status, crimes and punishments, entry and residency of foreigners, civil service, defenses and prisons, labour, securities, salaries and social securities in addition to the civil law and the police law especially that pertaining to specialties of women place.

The government emphasized the woman's right to equality between the man and the woman guaranteed by the Yemeni constitution that gave her gaining all the rights entertained by the man in different positions.

The committee specialized in final reviewing of the endorsed or amended articles in some laws directed that they should not contradict the Islamic law and established traditions in the Yemeni society.
