almotamar.net - Yemen foreign minister Dr Abubakr al-Qirbi met in Tehran on Wednesday Ali Akbar Wilayati, advisor to leader of the Islamic revolution for international affairs to convey to him a message from president Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen.

In the meeting Dr al-Qirbi touched on the situations in Saada, adding that the Yemeni government was exerting all efforts to end the sedition. Dr al;-Qirbi confirmed the common stands of yemen and iran regarding various regional and international issues, among which are the issues of iraq, palstine and Lebanon and pointing out that yemen supports iran's acquiring of technology and the nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

On his part Ali Akbar Wilayati affirmed the necessity of the establishment of security and peace in the Islamic world and said "We feel concerned about the situations in Yemen and this internal dispute does not serve Yemen's interests and the Islamic nation and we hope the Yemeni government, as in the past, can establish peace."

He also indicated to America and the Zionist entity attempts to instigate division in the world.

Meanwhile in his meeting with his Iranian counterpart Manbushahr Mutaqi, the latter mentioned about convention of the Union of Regional Cooperation for the Indian Ocean basin in Tehran and handing over its chairmanship to Yemen in the next year. Dr al-Qirbi confirmed Iran's role in the region and the world and the necessity of the Islamic world unity in confrontation with existing challenges facing the Islamic world, stressing the necessity of solidarity and harmony among the states members of the Islamic Organisation Conference. The two foreign ministers also stressed the raising of the level of the relations between Yemen and Iran in the light of the political will and availability of many opportunities.

The Iranian foreign minister said the good relations between the two countries and the political consultations among senior officials of the two countries and the available political will with those officials provide convenient opportunity for expanding bilateral relations in all areas.
