Almotamar Net - The fist plenary meeting of dialogue between the General People’s Congress (GPC) and political parties and organisations represented at the parliament, i.e. Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Islah), Nasserite Unionist Organisation, Yemen Socialist Party (YSP), the Arab Baath Socialist Party approved the formation of a committee for scheduling next meetings of the dialogue and setting priorities of the issues object of dialogue. Jamil Jadabi Almotamar.net - The fist plenary meeting of dialogue between the General People’s Congress (GPC) and political parties and organisations represented at the parliament, i.e. Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Islah), Nasserite Unionist Organisation, Yemen Socialist Party (YSP), the Arab Baath Socialist Party approved the formation of a committee for scheduling next meetings of the dialogue and setting priorities of the issues object of dialogue.

The committee is composed of Sherkh Sultan al-Barakani, Dr. Yassin Saeed Nouman and Dr. Abdulwahab Mahmoud.

In a statement to almotamar.net, the head of the GPC’s political office Tariq al-Shamy said after the conclusion of the meeting on Monday afternoon that many ideas and proposed issues of the dialogue were deliberated, among them related to amendment of elections law, the law of local authority, the law on political parties and organisations and the law on press and publications.
He has made it clear that the meeting stressed the importance of continuation of dialogue and setting up mechanism for implementing what has been agreed on in previous dialogues.
Al-Shamy added that dialogue will tackle issues related to general policies in economic and administrative areas in addition to issues connected with enhancement of general freedoms and rights. In addition the dialogue is to include constitutional amendments regarding development of the parliamentary system and adoption of the bicameral system.

The participants in the first meeting of the dialogue affirmed the importance of dialogue and conducting it with transparency and away from judgments and intentions beforehand as all are partners in building the homeland
