Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh said Saturday the new government has big and great tasks it has to undertake its national responsibilities, confirming that priorities of its tasks are known to all and are included in the presidential elections platform of the General People’s Congress (GPC)’s presidential candidate, adding “there must be a fierce battle against corruption and the corrupt and there are forces act purposefully to corruptly officials.”

During his presiding today over the first meeting of the new government headed by Dr Ali Mohammed Mujawar the president said there are those who talk about corruption and forget themselves,” each one has to purge himself and his establishment from corruption first before talking about others and should not think that no one sees him. All people watch him; media instruments, the press and all political parties represent people’s monitoring besides the monitoring of the legislative power and the apparatus of monitoring and audit,” calling the officials to “ be each of them a monitor on himself and to r3eproaqch himself and his conscience for any behaviors or procedure violating the order and the law.”

The president stressed on non-interference in the government affairs and it’s practicing of its tasks by any person or party whatever it was, directing the ministers to keep away from courtesy, mediations and embarrassments.”

The president reviewed priorities of the government which are included in the platform of the GPC candidate to the presidential elections saying “among the priorities is encouraging local, Arab and foreign investment and offering all facilities necessary for investment and there must be one window for investment instead of multi windows along with putting an end to the role of middle men who manipulate with investment.”

He emphasized the necessity of doubling abilities of electric power generation because of the importance of that as the electric power is one of the cornerstones of economic, agricultural, industrial and other aspects of development. The president urged the government to seek generating electric energy by all possible ways whether by gas or the nuclear energy for peaceful purposes according to what the Arab summit in Riyadh has decided with regard to generating of electric power by the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. President Saleh also directed the government to establish strategic projects adopted by the government with the private sector and both the public and the mixed sectors. And also urged for creating job opportunities to absorb the Yemeni labour and also opportunities of work for the citizens. He urged it to go ahead in economic, financial and administrative reforms and others of priorities, confirming patting attention to improvement of living conditions of the citizens, fixing prices along with founding full monitoring of supplies.
He said those are among priorities of the ministry of industry and trade as there must be monitoring and fixing of prices even though after liberation of trade and its subjection to rules of the free market the government is no longer one of its tasks to grant licenses for importation.

President Saleh also touched on the necessity of taking care of the public health, improvement of hospitals performance and establishing full monitoring on clinics that are open all over Yemen, saying regretfully some of them changed into slaughterers of citizens as a result of the absence of health monitoring.

In the meeting attended by the vice-president Abdrebeh Mansour Hadi, chairman of the Shoura Council Abdulaziz Abdulghani, the political adviser o the president Absulkarim al-Eryany, and the secretary general of the GPC Abdulkader Bajammal, the president urged the government to maintain work in development in general regarding roads networks, health education electricity and other areas and to be keen to implement strategic projects for these sectors and to be given priority by the government.

The president confirmed the necessity that the legislative power and the government should finish all legislations and laws as soon as possible and activate the role of monitoring besides the legislative power monitoring. He also stressed the importance of developing the role of all media instruments as well as the independent and party organ media and to upgrade the level of media performance without heeding altercations that harm the homeland and effects rift to the national unity. He said” We urge the government and the GPC in particular not to be dragged to media altercations with opposition parties and the GPC media should upgrade is media performance and to leave alone the opposition media in the hope that those consciences would reprimand them.” He said the homeland ibis for all and media wrangles strongly affect the national unity and bruises this great democratic action that Yemen has pursued and is receiving the world appreciation and admiration.

On his part the Prime Minister Dr Ali Mohammed Mujawar said the government would finalize its program in a week time and present it to the parliament, and addressing the president he promised the president that he and his government would work according to a team work spirit continuously t carry out his directives and the president’s election platform.
