almotamar.net - Deputy Premier for economic affairs, the minister of planning and international cooperation Abdulkarim al-Arhabi said the government programme presently lodged at the parliament represents a general unanimity by the legislative and the executive powers and contains definite goals and projects with accurate figures. Al-arhabi indicated that that breadlines on contents of the programme among them the five-year plan of 2006-2010, and the election platform of the General People's Congress candidate for the presidential elections.
Mr. al-Arhabi who was talking to Al-Jazeera TV channel Wednesday clarified that the government programme depends on giving the private sector a bigger role, achieving high growth rate, creation of job opportunities to limit poverty, fighting corruption and separation of powers.
Responding to a question on the opposition criticisms of the government programme al-Arhabi said the opposition is considered a tributary for the government for the achievement of the objectives and there is dialogue with the opposition and the opposition cannot be an opposition and ruling at the same time. And on the time period expected and steps taken for integration with the Gulf Cooperation Council states, the minister said the decision of the GCC summit defined the year 2015 a date for Yemen integration, pointing out to continued communication processes by the two sides. He has also revealed that Yemen is preparing a vision on the mechanism of integration or what he called a road map. He affirmed seriousness of the Yemen state in fighting corruption, citing the approval of a number of law, among them the law on fighting corruption and pointing to a plan for enhancement of the role of the central apparatus for monitoring and audition as well as consolidation of the role of judiciary and building of institutions and also cited the efforts exerted with regard to tenders and projects.
