Almotamar.net - Meetings of the 40th session of the general conference of the Association of Arab Universities (AAU) begin in Sana'a Saturday. The meetings are to be attended by 150 presidents of Arab Universities, members of the Association and representatives of a number of Arab, regional and world Universities.

Yemen's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Saleh Ali Basura said in a statement to almotamar.net convention of the conference in Yemen at one of the private sector universities, Science & Technology University, affirms the level of development the higher education is witnessing in Yemen.

The minister pointed out that the conference is an opportunity acquainting presidents of Arab universities with higher education in Yemen and the volume of development and expansion of this vital sector in its both public and private sectors.

He made its clear that the conference will discuss the topic of quality guarantee and academic adoption in the Arab universities. Dr Basura also said the conference will discuss a number of topics on its agenda, among them report of the general secretariat of the AAU on its activity and works of the previous session. He attracted attention that that meetings of scientific and academic councils emanated from the AAU will be held on sidelines of the conference.

Dr Basura also confirmed the conference is an opportunity for communication among presidents of Arab and Yemeni Universities and discussion of means for developing and enhancing their cooperation.
