Almotamar.net - An agreement signed Saturday for building a cement plant in Yemen between the Yemeni-Saudi Cement Company and the Chinese Cement Company Sinoma International.

The cement factory is to be built in Batis area, the governorate of Abyan with an utmost productive capacity of the plant amounting to 5000 ton per day and a t a cost of $ 250 ,million.

The project is composed of production line with complete administration buildings as well as buildings of maintenance and services and a power station of 45 MEGAWAT and another one for water desalination. It also consists of a third station for treatment of sewage. The buildings also include residential complex for workers of the plant, a mosque, a health centre in addition to water wells with full distribution network.

The plant will employ about 550 direct labour and more than 300 indirect labourers.

Information confirms that the Chinese company is to commit itself to implement the project in 25 months and to be equipped with European supplies regarding equipment and major systems as well as a filter system for pollution so that it makes the percentage of pollution very little.

Deputy Chairman of the Chinese company mentioned that investment opportunities and climate in Yemen as convenient and incentive for attracting more investors and an encouragement for expanding our work in Yemen.
