Almotamar.net - Assistant secretary-general for political affairs of the General People's Congress (GPC) Abdulrahman al-Akwaa affirmed Saturday the importance of developing performance of the GPC at organisational and political levels through the upcoming period, pointing out that the stage requires mobilization of efforts and energies at different levels to fulfill the promises the GPC made for the citizens during the latest elections.

During his chairing today of meeting of the permanent committee of the party in Sana'a governorate with presence of Abdulwahid al-Rabeei, chairman of the executive body of the GPC in the governorate, Hussein Hazib, member of the general committee, Tariq Al-Shamy chairman of the information office and Bushra Zaid member of the watchdog committee, al-Akwaa said this meeting comes to be distinguished as it follows a period full of many matters, the first of which is that in it democracy gas got firm through two presidential and local elections experiments in which the GPC has established its existence as a big political force on the national arena.

Al-Akwaa added the GPC, in the upcoming stage, proceeds from a fact that enhancement of the organisational and political and ideological construction is the basic container of the national action. The current stage puts all formations of the GPPC face to face to the responsibility of coordinating political efforts and an accord with the government, parliament and the Shoura Council and muster all their outputs in a manner serving the national decision and enhancing purposes of integration to attain the serving of issues of the homeland and the citizen, who is the first and the last goal for which the GPC exists.

Al-Akwaa also reviewed the efforts the GPC government has exerted since 1995 in carrying out economic, financial and administrative reforms and what resulted of that program that avoided Yemen from disasters and crises in addition of those reforms contribution to improvement of economy production and raising capabilities of the institutional work and preparation of an investment climate contributed to attracting foreign investments ands expanded horizons of the Yemeni market economy openness to the world. That has consolidated trust in Yemen and political directions of its leadership.

On the other hand al-Akwaa considered the GPC's initiative for activating the political dialogue with various political forces and organisations in Yemen as confirmation of the GPC keenness on stabilization of the national unity.
