Almotamar Net - (Reuters) - Norwegian oil group DNO ASA (DNO.OL: Quote, Profile, Research) failed to find oil or gas from one well in Yemen but a damaged well on the Tasour field is pumping 1,000 barrels per day after repairs, the company said on Friday.

"The Balan number 1 exploration well will be suspended after failing to test any hydrocarbons," it said in a statement of the test of the well in block 32.

"On the Tasour Field the repair of Tasour number 19 has been completed and the well is back on stream at about 1,000 barrels of oil per day," it said.

It said that the drilling rig would move from Balan to Block 53 to drill an exploration well at a Basement Prospect. Another rig was planned to start drilling a water injection well in the Tasour field in early December," it said.

"The Tasour field is currently producing in excess of 12,000 bpd (about 4,700 bpd to DNO, pre-tax) and is expected to maintain this rate for the balance of 2005," it said.
