almotamar.net - The Secretary-General (SG) of the General People's Congress (GPC) Abdulqader Bajammal called Sunday on leaderships of and members of the elected local councils in governorates and districts and centres allover Yemen to protect the society and to take care of its issues especially regarding living and economic aspects.

The SG said local councils members have to sense the volume of their responsibility as the society has granted them trust and authorized them administration of the local affairs in districts and governorates.

Bajammal added that paying attention to issues of the society is in the core of specializations of local councils and their members should shoulder the full responsibility for the supplies issues and hold accountable those causing the raising of goods prices and also to play bigger role in protecting the consumer and fighting monopoly.

The SG remarks came during his a chairing of the final meeting of the local permanent committee of the capital secretariat today. The meeting was attended by the assistant secretary general for political affairs Abdulrahman al-Akwaa, Dr Amat al-Razzaq Hamad al-Amin the assistant secretary general for woman affairs, Hussein Hazib member of the general committee, Dr Yahya al-Shuaibi chairman of the executive body and member of the general committee and Tariq al-Shami head of the information office.
