Almotamar.net - The US president George W, Bush said Wednesday the United States of America sees Yemen as active partner in different fields among them the war on terror. He affirmed also America's keenness on supporting Yemen's efforts in fighting terror and in the area of development and democracy.

On his part president Ali Abdullah Saleh affirmed that Yemen will go ahead in fighting terror and said "I feel with happiness for the big unlimited support for Yemen that president Bush has confirmed particularly in fighting terror and in considering Yemen as active partner of the United States and the international community in the war on terror."

Those remarks were mentioned in the Yemeni-American summit held in the White House on Wednesday between President Ali Abdullah Saleh and his American counterpart George W. Bush.

The two president s discussed in their meeting regional and international developments mainly developments of situations in Iraq , Palestine, Lebanon, Somalia, Darfur and Afghanistan besides discussion of ways of enhancing peace efforts in the region in the light of the Arab peace initiative .president Saleh expressed his satisfaction over results of his meetings with American officials that dealt with ways of strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation of the two countries in different fields, among them the terror.

The president talked on his looking forward to an American role to convince Israel to accept the Arab peace initiative for the establishment of just peace in the region in line with the Arab peace initiative, stressing that establishment of peace would strengthen the efforts for fighting terror and serves the security and stability in the region.

President Saleh stressed Yemen's interest in establishment of security and stability in Somalia and the Horn of Africa, clarifying that Yemen is exerting intensive efforts for the establishment of reconciliation and security in Somalia and the Horn of Africa in general and called on the US to help the transitional government in Somalia for reconstruction of the Somali state institutions.

President Bush praised what Yemen is achieving of successes in reforms and democracy, congratulating president Saleh on renewal of trust in the presidential elections Yemen has witnessed last September, indicating that those elections confirmed Yemen's commitment to democracy and the approach of reform.

The American president affirmed his country's keenness on in supporting Yemen's efforts in development, democracy and fighting of terror. President Bush praised Yemen's role for establishment of regional security and stability, expressing his appreciation of Yemen's efforts for the establishment of peace in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.
